As FairyGodmother Ms Kitty story time I get the opportunity to read the most positive children’s books. When Mary sent me Rainbow’s promise, the cover jumped out at me! The illustrations are bright and beautiful. The story has such a powerful message and a lesson for our youth to absorb. The adventure is all about a caterpillar named Rainbow that has been waiting so long to become a beautiful butterfly like his family and friends. He gets so disappointed waiting and told to be patient like we all have felt at times. He’s waiting for a day to feel special but he finds out that he is already special and begins to embrace the moments instead of rushing to his destiny. Rainbow finds happiness in helping others and the more he helps others he forgets all about his sadness and problems. In fact he begins to look for opportunities everyday to help and enjoy the moment. This is a journey that every child will love reading all the way to the end. The story touched my heart so much even as an adult that I asked the Author Mary Clark Dalton, what made her decide to write.
She replied I love children and want them to make the right decisions in life, so I write fun stories with a moral lesson for them to understand that actions have consequences, whether good or bad! I have to say after that Mary your book Rainbow’s promise truly inspires me. Thank you so much Mary for creating literature for our special young minds.
